**RESCUE PENDING**
Friends! We have dogs with rescue interest!! These five pups may not be on our “most urgent” post, but GETTING THEM OUT OF THE SHELTER MAKES SOME SPACE, WHICH HELPS TAKE THE PRESSURE OFF OUR MOST URGENT - which we really need right now!

If you want to help Minx, Icarus, Dane, Wells, Maisy, Dylan, Regina, Henry, Rocko, Wesley, Devlin, Stowe, Ripley, and Laura - please consider pledging for the five dogs listed below. It’s not enough to save them all, but it’s a start! Thank you SO MUCH for your support in this time of great need!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Leanna: https://www.facebook.com/theunforgottensouls/photos/a.1463264770398908/2408942915831084/?type=3&theater

Everyone, meet Nathan! Handsome fella, huh? House trained, big cuddler, and laid back, Nathan is a dream. 🥰 This boy is just over 3.5-years-old, 50lbs, and fixed too, so he’s ready for his forever home today! 🏡 Nathan is HW+, but if you fall for him this weekend, we’ll sponsor his treatment with $350! 💜 #cleartheshelters #friendsofwcac #adoptdontshop #dogsofinstagram

We just told Ace about #ClearTheShelters - think he’s a little excited?? 🤗 If you haven’t heard Ace’s story, be sure to head to our Facebook page - and bring your tissues! 💜 A once broken body and spirit has blossomed into this smiling, snuggly boy. 🥰 Part of the incredible role we get to play as volunteers is seeing past the wounds, matted coats, and sad eyes, and help the animals rediscover their love for life. We help breathe hope back into their eyes, and boy do they sparkle! ✨Whether it be hours, days, weeks, or months, we will give every animal the time they need to become their best selves. Any family would be lucky to have the love of these special souls.🏡🐾 #adoptdontshop #friendsofwcac #transformation #dontbullymybreed #pibbles

Blu baby, we love you and your sweet laugh! [➟ swipe for S M I L E S ➟]💖This beautiful girl is almost four-years-old, 40lbs, and fixed. Her favorite time of the day? Allll the walkies. 🚶‍♀️🐶 She melts in the hands of the volunteers and vise versa! Blu has amazing leash manners and is just an all around great dog. ✨
💜Loud noises can spook her, but she’s learning to see the world as a safe place thanks to our amazing team.🏡While she would be best as an only furbaby, it works out well with all the space she’ll take up in your heart! 💜
🎉Be sure to come meet her this Saturday (Aug. 17) during #ClearTheShelters while adoption fees are waved!!🎉

The ears!! 😩🥰 Oh, Phoebe, how we love you. This 2-year-old girl is so eager to please her humans, has great leash manners, and appears to be house trained.💕 Her ideal day consists of all the cuddles and some gentle treat-taking 🤗 Though slow to come out of her shell at first, Phoebe has warmed up quickly and would only continue to blossom in a loving home. 🏡 True to her quirky name, Phoebe would shine best as a solo performer in the house 😉 Come meet her this weekend during #ClearTheShelters! 💜 #adoptdontshop #friendsofwcac #friends #phoebebuffay #dontbullymybreed

It could be a coincidence, but it got me thinking about your expectations on my page. .I realize that many of you enjoy the lighthearted content, even when it addresses harsher realities. I know my page is a way to shield ourselves from disturbing images offered on other accounts, while still getting information and calls to action. And it’s no surprise really, since my work is known for pretty pit bulls in flower crowns that often mask the horror behind them: cropped ears, abuse, neglect… .I realize also that I haven’t yet actually explained the work I will be doing with the Korean dogs. Partly because I am scared. The whole idea behind my involvement with HSI is a project similar to Flower Power actually. We were discussing how I could create beautiful portrait of dog meat survivors, in order to rebrand these dogs in South Korea itself. As you can imagine, many in South Korea view these dogs as inferior, soulless and not companionable. The adoption rates are consequently quite low. With the number of farms HSI hopes to close in the coming years, it is paramount we find more adopters locally. Rebranding these dogs locally is one tool we can use. .This trip to the dog farm was a first step, simply because when HSI invited me to work with them, I knew I couldn’t do these dogs justice if I didn’t go on the field myself. I didn’t want secondhand accounts. .I wanted to witness these dogs’ past, so I could better serve their future. .All that to say that I fully intend on my page staying relatively the same. I will share no slaughter images or anything like that. I do want to continue addressing difficult subjects, educate and offer calls for actions. But I am concerned about protecting you too. Meet 1 Hip 2 Hip💕⁣
⁣
This sweet senior came in with a massive lump on her leg. She didn’t seem to be in pain, but it was definitely in the way. She just couldn’t get comfortable, standing or laying down.⁣
⁣
Thanks to your donations to our Foundation, we were able to take her to VVC and remove that sucker! She had been toting around this 7.6 pound sidecar for who knows how long! ⁣
And the best part is, it was not cancerous!🥳🤗💗⁣
⁣
She is happy and almost 100% healed. She’s ready to find her new home. ⁣
We have not behavior assessed her yet but will conduct one today to find out if she is a potential candidate for kids and dogs. Let us know if you’d like us to cat test her as well! ⁣
Or if you don’t have any other critters running around your home, just come get her! ⁣

Officer McHenry and Mrs. Douglas💘💘cuteness overload!!⁣
⁣
Mrs.Douglas is LITERALLY perfect. She is that coveted ideal mix of playful and snuggly. She is a 1 year old American Staffordshire Terrier. She has the typical bursts of energy found in all young dogs, but she does get tired pretty quickly. Mrs. Douglas LOVES every single person on the face of the planet, and she LOVES other dogs too! She would really really love to go home with a playmate. She is looking for a bestie that wants to have her around all the time! ⁣
Her play style can be intense at first. She is all in upon sight of another dog and she is surprisingly strong. But she will tone it down if she startles the other dog. She just wants everyone to love her!⁣
⁣
Mrs. Douglas would love to accompany her adopter to any dog friendly events, restaurants, breweries, etc. I’m not going to say she is a great running buddy just yet, but she can get there! She needs to build up her athletic abilities😉 Mrs. Douglas is seriously a gem, come adopt this perfect pittie today! ⁣

Our beautiful Kaelen. This is what gives us the fuel to keep going. Kaelen was found only a few months ago living in squalor near a trash dump, desperately trying to keep her nine puppies alive. While tragically, seven of these puppies passed away, Kaelen and her two surviving puppies thrived under our care. And now all three of them are taking their Freedom Flight this weekend along with over 230 other animals. Kaelen and her kids, Monroe and Simon, will all be getting picked up at the airport by their new forever families. We pour our hearts into this work over and over again, knowing that they might get broken. And as you’ve seen this week, it is not easy. But seeing our dogs make it into the loving arms of families who will cherish them forever, is what helps put our hearts back together again, so we can always keep going back for the next one.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our #MissionPossible10 campaign so far, shared our work with others, or otherwise cheered us on and sent us messages of encouragement. Thanks to this community, Kaelen and so many others are about to have their lives changed forever. Less than 30 hours until take off of our biggest transport ever.
