Anyone interested in fostering this cutie in the triangle area? He was the only dog in a house with..... 80 cats. WCAS did an amazing job of getting cats out and placed, but now it is this sweet guys turn! He is a little shy but super sweet. And needless to say, cat-friendly.

From the shelter: One This sweet boy is Sam 210369. Hes three years old, 42lbs, hw- and unaltered. And hes the lone dog from our cat hoarding case. He has lived with other dogs, and we know hes lived with cats (over 100 at last count). He, like the cats, is sweet but shy. I sat next to him, and he gradually scooted over until he was pressed against my leg. Hes foster/rescue for confidence and decompression from everything hes been through lately. Thank you so much for sharing!! It was so nice to meet you today!!

THIS. THIS is my WHY. Why I do what I can to help dogs in NC and abroad. Think this doesn’t happen where you live?! Think again. Open your eyes! It’s happening in your backyard. Puerto Rico has a place dubbed ‘Dead Dog Beach’ because that is where people dump their dogs when they are no longer wanted. The @thesatoproject does an amazing job to help as many animals as possible.
WTF!!! Please share this post! #Repost @racc_shelter with @get_repost

We are sad to share that we need your help for yet another sad case. This dog was shot at close range and killed on Tuesday, 12/3/19 at 4:00 pm in the alley beside 2416 Yorktown Avenue in Richmond, Virginia. The dog (pic taken last year) was a 4 year old, brown brindle, neutered male pit mix named Tippy. Multiple people were in this area when the shooting took place and we are confident someone knows something but has yet to come forward. If you know anything related to this crime please contact @crimestoppersrva online or call 804-780-1000. Please help-thank you! #weareyourcityshelter

Omg!!! This is awful!! Please get people to donate and we can offer a reward so we can get the person who is responsible!!

Whats cuter than having your childs picture taken with Santa? Having your DOGS picture taken with Santa!

Grab your dog and all your cheer and head on over to have your furbabys picture taken with Santa from 12:30-4*. Burger 21 will also be here from 12:30-4!

Photos are free, but donations are appreciated and will go to Black Dog Brigade to support their efforts to help shelters and rescues during the holidays.

Don’t have a pup but still want to help? Throughout the month of December, help @blackdogbottleshop give back and help animals in need by picking a tag off their Animal Rescue Giving Tree. It’s simple: Pick your tag, bring the item on the tag back to Black Dog, and drop it off in the gift-wrapped bin by the tree. Animal shelters and rescue organizations are always in need of donations, and that’s especially true this time of year.
